Thats a bit of a loaded question, you can't exactly get the world record with two or even three cards, it is after all, a world record.

But yeah, ridiculous power draw i wonder if they used 3 PSU's?

Let's sit back and wait for the ATi fangirls to start to pull this to pieces.

TBH, do most people really care about super overclocking these days? The top end hardware required to compete cost such a ridiculous amount i think its time and mass appeal has come and gone..

It's nice to see the results regardless. But yeah, it's not like you're going to be able to run it 24/7 or use the system to play your latest game.

Would be interesting on the comparison though, along with 5870's.

In answer to you're question, yes 4 gtx 480's beet's quad fire 5970's into the ground,

Apparrently even 2 gtx 480's beet quadfire 5970's (even in stalker 3 traditionally an ati game).

It seem's that nvidea's enginears have finnally fixed sli scaling....

Bc2 see's 90% scalling over 2 gpu's as do many other apps and games, But in "call of pripiet" the scailing is even higher at %110 - %120.

I beleive this is because this gpu was built to scale massivlly in "supercomputer" enviroments using 100's off fermi cards. anything less than %90 scailing would have crippled fermi's abbillity in that respect.

It' seems like nvidea's new card is really a revolutionairy peice off kit, that is going to go from strength to strength.

Shame custom pc cant seem to understand why (esp when the retail boards are no hotter than a 4970 x2, a card that won the crazy but cool award no less despite being eclipsed by the gtx 295 in a much higher percentage off games)

Of course 4xgts480's beat 2x5970's. The GPU is the equivelent to a gtx470/5850...
Now i'd love to see 4x5870's on LN, as they have alot more overclockability.

Considering how late Fermi is i aren't that impressed from a gaming point of view.

Although when the price comes into it, i can't see why anyone would buy one, unless they need 3D or Cuda..

they've been doing this for years now.. they put up a mods rigs page on evga couple years back, sort of like what you have on bit tech mods section so guys can parade around their systems

got the mods rigs tshirt and hat for being one of the first 200 on it.. that's ln2 overclocking it's nothing real world- they've been doing this for quite awhile

evga will only do nvidia as always.. has nothing to do with nvidia being the kings- it's kingpin who's been on the 3dmark leaderboard forever.. they were even making videos of kingpin back around the g80 launch having a truck filled with ln2 and a hose going into his house XD course shamino is the man but he's asian so whatever  he only helps design their boards so they can handle ln2 without bugging out

he's like the monkey in the cellar
