Thanks Nickson, glad you like it I'm definitely going to have a go at it once I've tested the drive out Thanks mate Thank you Angel Thank you -------- Tis update time again today's victim... the bottom panel. For the 2 radiators to work as planned I needed to create some form of intake in the bottom part of the case, so simple hole was measured, cut, filed and then a quick once over with some 600 grit to take away the rough edges. You may notice that the screws have been also been countersunk, thanks to oldnewby for the pep talk on countersinking Next I moved onto the feet placement. These feet are awesome but the bolts Bill sent me were a tad to long... probably me just being stupid as I had a banging headache from the day/night before lol. Anyhow not to be out done I searched through my box of wonders and found some of the tap washers I was going to use for the hard drives so these were added to the bolts as spacers and to reduce vibrations even more I still had a load of hex mesh that I got in the beginning but never really found a use for. Pruned to shape around the feet. Bill also sent me some small M4 bolts with the grill but they were to short to be used in the way I'm mounting it so I'll be using them to mount the mesh instead. Some measuring and drilling. Parts of the mesh were then pruned out for the screws. Thought I'd do something a bit different and show all the pieces that go into the bottom panel before it all goes back together. The feet go on. The M4 sockets are pushed though and taped in place to allow correct positioning of the mesh before adding a grommet but in half a nut. The grommets and nuts will be replaced with dome caps once I place my order for the final fixings. Finished Time to re-assemble the bottom section And finally a couple of shots of the inside. That's all I have for today, hope you enjoy it
Cant believe that this just gets better and better... Amazing work as always. And dude? I'm called Nicksen ^^ Not Nickson Dosn't really matter anyway ..
Thanks Rob Thank you Remmes Cheers dude lol sorry Nicksen I even read that as "'m called Nickson ^^ Not Nickson" the first time need to pay more attention
Its looking really tastey Not sure if anyone has suggested this, but why not have both radiators as exhausts? then you wont have to worry about hot air flowing through the second rad... And you can put a dust filter on the bottom to stop them clogging up Loving it though.
Thanks Pete I was thinking about it and in fact during the planning stages it was that way but then I realised that due to the final resting place of the case I would be getting blown with warm air lol the other option was to create a shroud to move the air down towards the rear but that idea got scrapped.
Really nice outcome buddy each time I just want to see more!!! Bloody_Pete 's suggestion I think is good is what exactly I ve planned for my mod, when I was planning the mod, first I route the airflow like you did but later I changed it to right and left exhausting. I am not sure how well its going to work but I will know once I do it Mod on brother!
This is looking H.O.T. Can't wait to see the final result. Your design is beautiful! It's got me written all over it - what were you saing about great minds? Keep up the good work!
Ooo I cant wait to see how yours performs, think I may be making some shrouds before long lol Thanks man
Thank you mate Damn I nearly wet my self when I saw that rofl ----- So week time modding limits the amount that I can get done but here is what I have to show for today. After spending some time on the bottom panel I decided that showing off it off was a must, plus a small window should add some interest to the left panel. Things started off with some planning, A simple box was drawn and then I doodled for 30 mins after which I reverted back to a a simple box lol. For some reason I don't have a shot of the cutting or filing stages but I do have one of the tools I used I then cut some smoked plexi to size and gave the edges a slight bevel taking them down from 600 to 1000 wet and dry finishing of with a wipe over of WD40. This piece was then positioned behind the window hole, taped in place and measured for the fixings. With the holes drilled I moved onto tapping the plexi for M4 and countersinking the aluminium All the pieces done and ready for assembly. Now for some eye candy of the new mini window. And finally with subtle lighting from the fans. Damn I cant wait for this thing to be black! its also clear to me now that some new fittings are in order as soon as I can afford them. Hope you enjoyed the update.
Neat and awesome bro! I like these little extra touches! Mod on man! PM me pls got something to ask ;p
That mini window idea made me smile. I'ts so pimp my ride, but in a good way. I look forward to what will be seen through that window
