Industry experts say that SSD companies are going to be going at it pretty soon, that means cheaper SSD's for us Link :http://www.tomshardware.com/news/ssd-samsung-price-war-intel-kingston,27101.html#xtor=RSS-998
Parge if I could I would kiss you. Like on the mouth with tongue. I was thinking about a Samsung Evo 840 or 850 when they come out. (850 coming sometime this year) At that price I am going to snatch one up, give it a blast and then report back
512GB for £130? That's bonkers. I paid £170 for my Samsung EVO 840 of the same capacity, and to see prices drop £40 in less than a month is insane. Hopefully everybody else follows Toshiba's lead...
Let's hope they do, I'm saving up for an SSD. Had my eyes on a Samsung EVO 256 for later on in the year.....but dat price drop on the Toshiba is ridonkulous! Will keep an eye on SSD prices even more now!
Hopefully they will be better than OCZ Vectors, I had two die in four months, no wonder they went bust
A great spot that, & whilst not consistently as fast across the board, a much better buy than the MX100 @ ~£152. +1 rep (naturally).
OCZ = bad. Crucial = good. Intel = great. Samsung = excellent. Most of the SSD's which have failed on me have been OCZ. I learned my lesson and don't touch them now. The best rule to stick to with SSDs (especially when used as boot disks) is to have an up to date image or at the very least, a daily backup of data on the drive at all times.
I havent bought one just yet, being smart with the money I have, will likely buy one when I get paid. Too many things I am looking at recently.
Wow, over £200 for a 30GB? I remember paying £350 for my first SSD, a 120GB OCZ Vertex 2, and even more distinctly remember it failing just 8 months later
