Dunno if this is the right category, but here goes.

Im gonna be getting some of the pre-braided cables from shakmods for my 24pin, 8pin cpu and my graphics card... Becuase Im lazy

My graphics card is a HD 6850 (6 pin power supply).
My PSU is a CoolerMaster Silent Pro and came with the PCI cables that has 8 pins, but allows you to unclip 2 of them to fit to your 6 pin cards.

If I buy an 8 pin cable to connect as an extension to the standard PSU cable and then connect to the GPU, Im not going to have any problems am I? Like will it fit and Im not gonna cause a short somewhere?
I dont think I will, but I was just checking before I lash out the last of my xmas spending cash.

You can get pre-braided extensions in 6-pin versions, no need to worry about whether they'll fit. If you're getting 8-pin to cover any future upgrades then I'm sure it won't cause any issues, it'll be the same as the unclipped 2 pins from the PSU. If you're really worried about potential shorts just plug the unused pins with something.
