My friends don't have much to spend between them...and they handed me this shortlist for the kind of budget they're on.

    Cd players

    Technics SLPG580-£39.95
    Sherwood CD3050-£39.95
    Cambridge CD5-£49.95

    Amplifiers

    1.Cambridge A3i -£39.95 (second hand)
    2.Sherwood AX4103-£49.95
couldn’t find us any more of thems.

    Speakers

    Warfedale 7.1-£19.95
    Mission 702e-£59.95
Acoustic solutions DS1000-£39.95 (these aren’t in the sale but were still cheap)

Any ideas on what they should go for? at similar prices...

Remember that I'm going to be living with these two for the next year...It has to be good on my ears too ;)

Well I take it you did a lift of the cheaper things from richersounds ;)

Personally if you HAVE to get a cheap system you need to get a demo of the each kit setup in each config, which they may be pissy to do.

As samuelellis says, your better off saving a bit more and getting some quality kit, but your working to a budget, I get ya.... you need to hear the stuff, its all about personal preference when it comes to audio kit imo.

    They can't afford any more.

It's coming to the end of their tenancy on their current place and they're splashing out a little from their savings.

the sherwood amp does nto seem too bad

the technics cd player has a layed back sound (dotn knwo if that what you want but i use a technics dvd changer as a source & that is pretty good)

the missions are good speakers (im usign a pair of mission 771e on a sony ta-fe370)

then jsut get soem cheap interconnects or try & blag soem in free

richer sounds is your chice in shop correct?

specs wise i'd agree with samuelellis, however get em to rig you up a demo, and to get richersounds to do that you best get a girl with large breasts to go into the store and flash some... cos they are well b1tchy about hooking demos up.

wow free mug..... how totally awesome NOT!!!! :grr:

Seriously, only go into Richer's if you know exactly what you are after, otherwise they will try and push their Eltax and Sherwood sh*t on you. :blah: :miffed:

And don't go in flashing any vouchers or printouts because thats the totally wrong way to do it, you gotta wait till they are putting the stuff through the register, Thats when you hit them with voucher, hahahaha they do not like that one bit

And thats how you deal with those Boobies Cowboys :thumb:

Agreeded. I only ever go to them if I am after a specific (I mean specific, down to make and model) bit of kit, and they have it cheap. They dont know much, but there gear is cheap, which is good.
