Im sure some of you have seen this http://www.extremepcgarage.com/home.html click the "watch and win go to the pilot episode now" and watch it. Imo its kinda corny, its just like pimp my ride when they sit at the table and discuss (not to mention the old guy, who talks about the video cards sounds really ehh, fake, worse then the guys at west coast customs) but its kinda cool, check it out
haha, ownage this is way better than pimp my ride, on that show they just give it a nice coat of paint. on this one they custom milled the entire case and everything, a lot more effort put into it
This sucks. This makes case modders look like losers. Only problem is, we're not the losers, but THEY are. They're making a fool out of themselves though lol.
OK this idea for a show WOULD actually work if the people in the show weren't acting like a bunch of waiters from Hollywood. I mean seriously, the appeal of shows like Monster Garage, American Chopper and such is that the people in the shows ARE REAL. They react and act like they would in a real shop. Hell I had this idea for a show myself and until now I hadn't heard about this particular show but I know this would never succeed. They should emphasize less of what hardware components are inside and more on how to build the mod. The people doing the work should never have to explain what they are doing...they should just do it. They should have an announcer instead, if they are going to model it like Monster Garage. Personally I prefer the whole American Chopper/Hot Rod format where there is no hosting. Basically have some guys build some commisioned PC's (NVidia and other manufacturer commissioned). Let the guys build it then later overdub the build footage with the maker's actual voice explaining what he is doing. Then unvail it at any of the mod/LAN party expositions. Basically the stress would come from the deadline. You got a few things covered here: First a REAL challenge, REAL people and sponsorship from any of the manufacturers whose products appear on the show or even commisioned the PC.
sooo pimp my ride wanna be/look a like some of their info is a bit out of date... ive seen other computers look like a car.. and that look totally better aswell.. they need to make it a bit more realistic and a bit more low key...
looks dumb. pimp my ride is annoying because they don't really explain [and show] how they do things, they just tell you what they did. orange county choppers or monster garage are interesting to watch because i can actually pick up ideas and techniques
ya american chopper and american hot rod are awsome have you ever seen monster house? it plays on fridays before american hot rod i think, but ya theres a host, but it works though, its a good show Ya the dudes are really crappy and make us look like nerds ALSO!!!!!! ok u know in pimp my ride, they pimp unfortunate people (sort of) who have a crappy car and stuff you know? no money to fix it and all that, good people but in this show, the dude obviously has money, he works on his car, so basically there pimping some perfectly fine dudes, computer, when it could be done for a less fortunate person (ie me with a chevy lumina or somethin) you know?
Well, this level of nerd (no those guys are not geeks, they're lowly nerds!) ensures modding won't go mainstream. XFX should know better, I mean that's just downright depressing to watch that. also in PMR they actually work with the same car. In this thing they just went out and bought everything new. And they really should have gone the two-gig route for ram.
It never has been, it's just the "most useful" if you care about things like that. I prefer a nice shiny heatspreader over a giant temp readout any day.
That's actually very funny since they are both viewed in the same light by real chopper builders and hot rodders as we are talking about Extreme PC Garge. Real shops are much less interesting and much more raw. Jesse James of Monster Garage on the other hand actually gets a bit of respect from the real builders and rodders since he is pretty much the "real deal".
apart from his ego. He's a pretty talented builder, but once he opens his mouth you just want something heavy hes working on to fall on him
It might be cooler, but Jesse fabricates everything him self, doesn't have a few shelves full of crates of the same frame. I'm sure he has a few that he might use, but he makes most his frames along with all the fenders and everythign else... I watched that and I pray thats just a spoof of somethin.... I need to get on PMR and pimp my pc lol BOTH are old beasts! (PC IN SIG) And my beast of a vehicle: '86 Grand wagoneer. 157k miles 2.5l--WEAKkkk. 5spd. LOL should make a tape for both places.
ya thats true occ uses the same frame, really all there bikes look the same and they say the same stuff over and over Paul jr: "so far we havent ran into any problems, which is unusual, lets hope it goes this smoothly until we finish" or somethin like that, in every episode but paul senior is what makes the show, hes awsome
