Straight to the point... Would I be able to get Eyefinity working with 1 22" monitor with DVI/VGA input and 2 19" monitors which only have VGA? Ive read all about these active and passive displayport to VGA and DVI adapters, and to be honest i'm baffled. So 1. Is it possible? 2. What would I need? I'm using an ASUS 6950 DCUII btw.
1x DVi 1x VGA 1x VGA > DP (active adapter) This should work, alto i'm yet to see eyefinity with VGA connections so that is why im not willing to sing this with 100% accurtacy. 1x DVi 1x HDMI > DVi (passive) 1x mDP that setup works for me.
I've had it working with one 22" dvi, one passive 17" dp-dvi and one 17" dvi-vga. Its good but I didn't use it for long as it's only as good as your worse res so the res was brought down by the 17" monitors. I wanted to rotate the two 17"s each side to my 22" but it doesn't work, can't get eyefinity to work on a rotated portrait monitor. Well; I couldn't, but saying that I haven't updated my drivers for a little while.
Cheers for the reply, so you reckon 1 of these will do the job... http://www.ebuyer.com/product/184666?utm_source=google&utm_medium=products
i used the same converter but it was a DisplayPort-DVI with success, and the one you pictured is cheaper at Amazon by five quid, also probably free delivery. Passive display port adapters only work upto 1920x1200 i think if i remember correctly. When i was reading about doing eyefinity i'm sure i read about people having sucess with using displayport-vga adapters, and at that price its worth having a play.
