F.E.A.R. Graphics and Gameplay

BigZ, my 6800gt is running at 446mhz/1250mhz, so its a little bit more then a normal 6800gt

I found that the Fear Single player Demo has some major preformance problems. I played the demo before.. I was really laggy.
seems there's bug or something

Now, i am on the Full verson. It is smooth..

My rig spec:
AMD AthlonXP @ 2.2Ghz
DDR400 512M
X850 XT PE.

I am running 10X7 with FSAA 2X & AF 4X ... with Max & Med setting.

 

The word from NVIDIA was that performance had improved from the demo to the full code. Obviously that doesn't impact you and your X850, but I would expect ATI made similar gains.

Your system is not that different to mine, and it looks like you have appropriate settings. Glad you're enjoying the game, and welcome to the forums.

thinking about buying F.E.A.R. but im not sure yet. how do you guys think this will run on my comp? these are the specs:
Intel® Pentium® 4 630 3.0 GHz
2x 512MB DDR2-533
PCI-ex ATI Radeon X800GT 128MB
Direct®X 9.0
if need be i can fiddle with the setting to get a better framerate, but i just want to know if it would handle this game. as i hear this game chews graphics card and spits em out, so i wanted to know if it would fry my comp. thanks much

 

You should be able to play it fairly well with things on Medium and a few Highs. Start at 800x600/1024x768 with stuff on Low and then just start cranking it up

If you want to give it a try to be sure, download the demo and see what you can do.

if i run F.E.A.R. at 1024x768 with soft shadows off and some mediums and some highs, what will be my average framerate with the singleplayer? a guess would be sufficient. thanks for your help.

so i got F.E.A.R. and im running with 4xAA at 1024x768 (occasionally even higher res.) and all details except for soft shadows on high, and i get a really steady framerate that almost never stutters. if anyone of you want to play mp sometime, my name is "kito". cya and thx
