others have probably noticed this but bit-tech's forum numbers are falling fast and its boring lol me must do something to keep member counts up there making for a better forum experience with thread replies taking less time. Ice
Chill it's about quality not quantity, bit-tech's still the welcoming place it was when I first joined so there'll be more members yet!
Its a shame but i dont agree. Bit tech used to be welcoming .... now its quite hostile. Its a shame really.
Where did you get that idea from? I still see as many numbers on the forums as I have done before. Without delving into the statistics it seems to be between 50-150 members online and around 80-200 guests. As for hostility, I would hope that our regular members are still as welcoming now as they have been in the past. If not, they'll be talked to appropriately by the mods. Granted, we've obviously had to be stricter on the banning over the last 12 months or so given the general influx of complete tools who either seem to think this is some kind of advertising opportunity or that it's appropriate to come on and take a pop at the admins for some petty reason or another.. however, I don't think that's significantly affected our readership. If you want the place busier, get your friends to join
Admittedly I joined after I read a certain PC Modding Mag, and they were running a competition on the Ammo Boxes cases. And also admittedly most of friends dont even know whats inside a computer, let alone how to build one or mod it.
Might be getting quiet due to exam time/ people knuckling down and revising....crap I have a general studies exam at 1.45
bah, and here i thought this thread was about the game FALLING NUMBERS! i have still yet to beat my high score of 30,000
Maybe you oughtta publish some of you bigger articles in PC-magazines. Maybe that will attract more members...
I can second that. The number of bit-tech members is still as high as ever but I think the quality of posts is definitely degrading all the time. I'm not actually attempting to have a proper go at anyone, but there are a lot of people who post absolutely rubbish threads when they haven't got anything to contribute anywhere else.
As the forums grow, it becomes harder for the Mods to maintain quality control, so to speak, and we rely on the cooperation and goodwill of members who care about these forums to do their bit to keep this place chilled and a good place to hang out. This means that everyone needs to: - report inappropriate posts to the Mods (don't engage in flame wars, and don't feed the trolls); - keep the quality of their posts high (jokes and witty comments are cool, of course, but when you want to make a point, make it a good one: talk sense, write clearly and don't pretend to know more/better than you do, don't insult others for having a different point of view); - use Google before you ask that question. Then use the Forum search before you ask that question --often a wealth of information is already available! - chill out. It's all good. Modding is just a hobby, y'know? It's supposed to be fun.
