Does the power Armour continue to operate under water?

If so a comedy pairing with the Aquaboy Perk could be good.

Yup, works just fine, just like wading through treacle though. Seems to have it's own air supply so using it as a diving suit is an option as long as you have a way to walk out of the water.

That's really cool, so aquaboy is surplus to requirements.

If you still have power for your suit then yes. However, each power core only lasts about 20 mins and they aren't too easy to find.

I actually did that little activity three times.

1st: Chucked the PA into the drink. Loaded a save.
2nd: Didn't chuck PA in the drink, but that ****er who tasks you with the job jumped in my PA! And didn't get out! Killing him didn't help. You can't loot the frame, just the armour off it. Loaded a save.
3rd: Parked PA down by the ramp, accepted the job, got into PA before pushing the button..

I'm ten hours in now. Won't talk of my experiences because I don't want to spoil the game for others but I'm really enjoying myself. I've not even really used the power armor because the cells are like rocking horse droppings. However, I did get myself into a bad situation where I was faced with a monster sized boss man that I could not defeat. I think for that I am going to have go go back in power armor and find myself a "Big Boy" or whatever it's called (the new mini nuke cannon). However, unless I manage to find one then I'm going to have to pay the princely sum of 15,000 caps for it so it could be a while :D

Overall though? very few bugs and some slowdown at times but nothing to stop me soldiering forward. It's a fantastic game but it's pretty darn hard. Much harder than FO3 or NV.

I also have a sneaking suspicion that it's bigger than anything we've ever had before. Ten hours in and I have barely even scratched the surface and am only at level 13. Looking at the perks? well they're big too. So with no level cap? I have a feeling this game is going to take a while.

My only real complaints are that the power armor is mostly redundant, due to how scarce the cells are and some of the music is from Fallout 3. Not that I'm complaining, it's good music, but I expected an entirely new soundtrack.

Oh yeah, and the DJ is an insipid twunt. I heard rumours that they got Three Dog to work for them but so far it's just been very boring and bland on the radio.

Feral ghouls, you don't NEED to shoot them in the head but holy crap it helps. Tough gits, carry on fighting with arms missing.

And the first time they do that charging jump thing... squeaky bum time.

I crapped my pants when that happened. My shotgun at the time was not up to the task as i missed and needed to reload !!!

i found shooting them in the leg helps and it knocks them over easily.

There just isn't enough hours in a day to get to do all the things I want to, or play all the games I want to, anymore. That said, this is Fallout, so obviously I had to have it!

So, installing and playing last night I am now about three hours in - and I am absolutely loving it! I may lose my house, the kids and my wife in the coming weeks - and I won't even notice.

Went through the usual process of making a character, getting out of the vault and exploring the wasteland. Come upon a group of settlers requiring my help to fight off some raiders. Seemed simple enough, and the trusty old 10mm works very well against human combatants. I was not prepared for what would make its appearance during that fight. Holy crap! That was a tense conclusion (involving much backpedaling combined with full automatic fire) to a pretty damn good firefight. Facing off a deathclaw that early in the game ... brilliant!

There is one really close to Sanctuary along with a nuke to go in it. I don't tend to use them as it always feel a waste.

I need help guys. I got to Diamond City, accidentally stole something and now they're hostile. The last save I can load was 3 hours ago. How do I stop them being hostile? Thanks.

I did. Still didn't make that last encounter any less tense though.

Okay, so.. Are Deathclaws weaker now? I've just done a mission where I (luck of the draw?) had to fight through four of them - One after the other - in the glowing wastes area and I swear it was a complete cakewalk compared to Deathclaws of old. Not sure if they were quest specific deathclaws and thus weaker, or whether they're just generally less murder-capable in this game

You know, the best way to get rid of temptation is to give in to it.
Just come on in, it's okay, we don't bite (well, not all of us at least), and we have cookies.

I really don't know, though I've only played for roughly five hours in total (two of which were spent clearing out the trash, rubbish, detritus and ruined houses from Sanctuary and then starting to rebuild it), but were you in Power Armour at the time?
I was not prepared for the encounter With the Deathclaw during the raider firefight in the streets of Concord, and as the previous Fallout games has taught me not only to fear the Deathclaws - but that the Deathclaws are the manifestation of fear itself, I was certain I would die horribly. I ended up emptying the minigun twice, and it still didn't go down. I took some hits, and again was certain that I would not walk away from this, but eventually I was able to finish it off with the 10mm. Had I not been in Power Armour that fight would have ended very differently.
