Ok, i got a curious one here. My Lian Li's rear fan has these lil plastic bits that hold the fan to the case, rather than bolts. They're like a two part bit, you push one through the rear or the case and into the fan bolt hole and then push the other inside it to splay out the first to hold it in place. And i mean, what a piece of kit! No noise cos they dont rattle free etc and look a lil nicer than bolts.

Anyone know what i'm on about and where can i find em??!!

Stoooopid thread i know, but they're so cool!

i HATE those things. i really wanted to put my panaflo 80mm m in the back of my case, over the psu, but its an older fan, and has solid corners, so the snap rivets dont work for it ..

the screws are actually brass, but when place on aluminium look gold.

All the parts are from the local DIY shop, B&Q actually...

they are M3 screw and nuts, i just used those spread thing before mounting the screws.

And as it was a fully threaded screw, i was able to stealth mount the fan, notice how the grill is sunk below the surface level

Man I wish I lived in the UK, PCMODs charges 1.99 for 4! Ripoff I say but I do love those things. If anyone knows of a USA supplier that would awasome.

Hey Cypher, what size tank cutter did you use to drill that 80mm hole, i can only find like 76mm and 72mm, does your fan guard not pretude at all into the hole then? I'm guessing that was the existing Lian Li extractor hole with the original grill cut away? Does look cool.

iam try www.caseetc.com .... 10¢ each for standard fan screws (the ones at pcmods aren't like norma ones, they're big and ugly looking... i know, i have some...)

Thats the regular hole, dremeled the standard crappy hole thing out, and used rubber hole trim.

The grill sits level with the rest of the case
