Electronics Fan Rheo Questions

    1. Watt type of knobbed resistor [ potentiometer, right? ] do I want to take a fan from ~12v all the way till around ~3v?

    2. What wattage rating is enough for a coolermaster LED fan? Or a 3.96w 120mm fan?

    Thanks for any help.

    btw: I saw this thread from a forum search but it confused me to no end.

    So yeh, US modder lookin' for something he could maybe find at Radioshack? Maybe order from allElectonics?

    For the 3.96W fan, to turn down to 3v you need a 100R 10W rheo.

    A 50R would turn it down to 5v and you'd only need a 5W rheo.

    most Radio Shacks should have pots.
