I've thinking about a wc setup for 1 of my case mods and I am quite concerned about the use of shrouds on fans and rads.

is it better for a fan shroud or an airtight chamber where 3x120mm fans blow air into then on the other side is the radiator itself?

basically 2nd part is like the fans having indirect contact with the radiator....

    thanks.

You want your fans a small distance away from your radiator (if possible, it's not essential) to minimise the "dead spot" caused by the central hub, but you don't want them too far away or you lose some static pressure.

A shroud is essentially a air chamber of optimal dimensions anyway.

As said, yes b shroud would help, cut not essential. I don't bother in my setup. for a shroud to be effective, it probably needs to be at least an inch deep. Diminishing returns above that. A deeper rad would be better choice, unless you have extra space to use up.
