Ive never bought a Chieftec/Antec case before, but am considering buying the Matrix case... One thing I noticed was on the Mikhailtech Review of the case the fans behind the front bezel are not alligned right behind the center grill. Example Graphic ? Now is there an Antec/Chieftec case where the fans are actually centered or would I end up manually cutting new holes to have my fans centered behind the grill?

if the fans were central then they would probably foul up the motherboard and HDD cages, so this is why most cases have them of to the left,

    sorry ;)

thats partly because the LLs are deeper, and have a removable mobo tray, as do the CMs,

so they have the space to play with inside

I can only speak for the 1030, but the fans are certainly concentric with my grilles, front & back.

Not that I've got grilles any more, cutting them out reduced wind noise a fair bit.

Looking at the picture you link, I can see the lugs on the fan-holder, equally spaced top & bottom of the grille, so I suspect the photo gives a false impression of where the fan centre is.

    Welcome to the boards, vyrotek.

You could cut the whole panel out and place the fans where you want them, and use the size you want as well.

If you loose one of those 3.5" hdd racks then you could put a nice slow, quiet 120mm at the bottom front of the case  This'd give loads of air, be really quiet ansd allow you to put a linear style lighted fan duct in the front of your spangly new case - job's a gudd 'un :D

sorry, I'm quite into fan ducts ATM - just put a 170mm square one in the front of my w/c rig for its 4 92mm intakes :eeek: :D

only problem with that is that you would lose the space to mount 6 hard drives... and when i got my first dragon case, i called up antec about this and was told the fans are slightly off center so as to maximize airflow across the mother board and components likely to heat up. and if you look, the positioning of the front fans corresponds pretty closely to the positioning of the rear exhaust fans... which is why i believed the bs antec fed me
