It drives a set of 5 LEDs (red as standard) to chase in this pattern: 12345432

    For blue LEDs add £4

    Hi Acrim,

i sent you an e-mail yesterday regarding the circuit for the "da bomb" project.

I know youv've been having problems with your mail servers over the last few weeks, so I thought I'd try to contact you here.

Can you let me know how you are getting on?? Any ideas on cost yet? Do you want payment up front?? Are you still willing to make the PCB??

I know you've probably got a lot on, but I really want to start work on this.

    Cheers

Which e-mail address have you been using?

The PCB is mostly done, its just i'm having real problems getting the modules as i would like them, the design is very complex, i should be done very soon. It should cost around £15, maybe a little less if i can get these modules sorted :thumb:

As for payment i'll contact you when the PCB has been made, wait for payment and then have it sent to you (free delivery on orders like this).

I tried mailing you through bit-tech's e-mail in your profile & your hotmail one. I didn't try the one on your site though.

Thanks That's great news. I was starting to get a little worried!

I'll look forward to recieving the mail from you with details. Oh by the way, how will I know which chips go where, are you able to create a mask (the white writing on the pcb)? it doesn't matter if not, just wondered.

    Thanks again. :thumb:  :D

I always etch where PIN1 goes on the board, as for which IC goes where you'll get several labeled scale digrams of the PCB.:thumb:

If you managed to send me a clear material that was coated in a thin layer of copper, yes. However it might get discoloured by the etching process (a nasty 70's orange colour).

Interesting - was gonna make a clear PCB on some acrylic - and have the stick on copper film - I tested some acrylic in some ferric cloride and it wasn't affected at all..

pcb out of acryllic? NICE! is there any place you can buy some... the best would be some with photocoat...

Don't forget acrylic goes very melty at soldering temperatures... :duh:

Did think of that and maybe if its tinned before soldering - cooled down first and cooled down with compressed air instantly :)

Maybe a heat shunt would work?

Was hoping that tinning the circuit with tinning solution and generously tinning the component legs (ics socketed of course) - would mean solder in is quick then a blast of compressed air..

How are you actually getting the copper onto the acrylic in the first place? Wont sticky back coppers glue be melted by the etchant/heat?

Well stuff is sold for the purpose of making circuits this way?

Happily send some down + a bit of acrylic if ya have the time to test theory? Not able to do much at the moment as my MS is bad and my left hand is not co-operative :)

as for the melting of teh acryllic... if you use lots of flux, and use soldering paste it should work.. soldering paste have a lower melting temp. than normal solder... Also: acryllic usually don't melt instantly. it turns soft first... so if using soldering paste and a soldering iron (hot air would be best) with at little highter temp. (allowing us to be FAST) it should work....

anyone know where to get that chopper sheets? i want to try this.. :)
