hey mate. got a Q for you my dads in charge of TV contracts for the welsh football team. he was talking to neil kinnock. and neil was saying that he was sorry that he was gonna miss the italy game, but he can watch it in brussels. and my dads like what. BBC wales has no rights to broadcast outside wales, or was the rights sold to anyone outise italy/wales. so he asked neil, how he did this, and neil said something about haing a card to view 2W (BBC 2 Wales digital) from brussels that he slots in the sky machine. so is this possible, can it be stopped and err, you get my drift (ok so i'm bigging up my dad hers, but hey i'm proud of him, so you know, err yeah. party on wayne, party on garth)
from what i understand your dad controls where this teams matched can be seen, now its not a card that can be put into a sky digibox you would need a sperate dish & a european wide decoder to pick up another countries broadcasts properly (you cna get a few my moving your sky mindish but tis not worth ti) now what im guessing this neil ahs is a dish on his house that si pointed at a culsrer of satellites & has a european satelite sysyem that has the correct CAM (conditional acess module) &a viewing card to pay for a channel that is legally bradcasting now what im giessing is a channel in brussels has payed for the rights (i think) as its a pay channel this aint makign much sense but it is 3:42am so this is a bit of info & i will type up what i mean propelry tomorrow ok?
i think i got the wrong end of the stcik there, is neil gonna be in brussels when the match is going on? cos if he is then there is nothing to stop him pciking up the signal from astra 28.8 (the sat cluster that sky trsnsmits on) & using a simple BBC free to air card with a sky decoder or is that wrong & he will be in the uk but picking up the singal from brussles? rigt if hes gonan be in brussles then he may have a FTA sky card that gives you all the free channels on sky (oen phone call & you have a free card but it is pared to a decoder) now if he is going someware with a suitably large dish & a bit of work he can pick up british tv i will go into more detail when i get up & am fully contious cos right now im sleepy & probably not making much sense i pull in all sorts of channels all free (will get more channels when i upgrade my equiptment did i mention there all legal)
ok neils in brussels and picking this up. i'll tell my dad what you told me. prolly not alot the beeb or anyone can do, unless he charges them some more cashio
