Barman says, "sorry mate, we don't serve neutrinos in here"

A neutrino walks into a bar

Bollocks. Didn't read the thread /#fail

Typical! I spend 10mins looking for this thread (seriously slow net connection at work :( ), only to find someone has posted the same thing I was going to whilst searching.
    Oh well :)

Would be good if this is confirmed, there haven't been many ground-breaking discoveries of late.

Now, only if they could apply this to internet speeds.....

This is a very interesting result. I have a feeling my Physics lessons may have to be changed significantly now.

when there are limits the mind is not open to possibilities, i believe there is always a way, we just haven't found out how, we will.

Will have to wait until they've upgraded another test site (MINOS in the US) before we can be at all certain about this, but there definitely seems to be something unusual here. Main possible error still seems to be the gps system though and there doesn't seem to be an easy way to test it apart from doing the experiment in a different place.

Doubt its going to affect anything but post grad physics for a long time though, as what we've got at the moment seems to explain everything else well and accurately. Interesting article http://www.nature.com/news/quantum-theorem-shakes-foundations-1.9392 about new a new interpretation of the wave function as well, seems to be quite a bit happening in physics atm (even though CERN hasn't found what it was looking for).

Is it possible that Maxwells equations are correct, but the neutrinos are taking a short cut through space, thats assuming that the errors have been delt with. I'm remaining sceptical on this
