hey. I've recently got my home network going again.
got a little file server running.

It's probibly only me who will use the server or with large files anyway..

large files take ages to send over to the server
(both my computer and the server are running xp pro with full duplex 100Mbps)

I know this is something like 10megabyets a second (not 100 lol)

    My question is this:
Is there a faster way to transfer files, than useing network place's in windows xp and dragging the files in the share?

    cheers.

I have the same problem with networks. Fastest for me is an external USB hard drive, but its only good for occasional transfer of huge amounts of data, because you have to do two copy operations.

As woodshop said, the only way would be to upgrade to gigabit ethernet.
