Hey, so im new to the Smartphone world, got a Galaxy S II looking for some help on apps/games? Apps I have a QR reader atm, iplayer, flashplayer Any one recommend a good sync app? Preferably one that allows photos to be put into a folder on PC i want by date taken? Games I enjoyed galaxy on fire (has a shot on missus iphone) but wanted something similar on android? or stratagey and multiplayer games. Any tips would be ace I have checked XDA forums but finding them hard to digest!!!
I only really play puzzle games on my phone because of time constraints on buses etc. Unblock Me is fun for a while. Ill see if i can remember some more later.
Dropbox for the first want? I also have the following installed: Steam TechPowerUp! Bit-Tech Go SMS Pro Phonebook 2.0 Dialer One AdFree (as I'm rooted) Adobe PDF Reader Mixzing Premium And a couple to satiate your games requirement (though neither are exactly what you asked for, they both quite happily occupy): OnLive Sonic the Hedgehog This is all on an S II as well, rooted running a pre-release build of ICS (will update to the release version soon)
Anything Kairosoft Broken Sword 2 Remastered (700meg download though and better played on an iPad) Whatsapp
My favorite are the following Dialer One BropBox Syncly (To auto upload camera photos to dropbox) Facebook Friendcaster Inkpad My phone number since I change sims quite often Soundhound Swiftkey SMS Backup Titanium Backup Tunein Radio Whatsapp
As long as it's in the 'Story' series, I agree 100% I just bought Dungeon Village and I'm pretty disappointed, it's like watching an MMO being played with no fun interaction... I've played and beaten Game Dev, Hot Springs, Grand Prix and Pocket League Story, all worth the purchase. They're great strategy-sim games. Dropbox has an automatic photo uploading feature, maybe try that?
On the game front Where's the Water is awesome, the obvious Cut the Rope and Angry Birds...Dead Space actually handles really well, and looks incredible. And Cordy is pure platforming awesomeness! Lightbox has some cool uploading features for photos, it's more of an online portfolio type thing though...
Osmos. The best phone game ever! Also, File expert lets you wirelesssly drag and drop any files (inc vids) from any computers or NAS boxes on your home network.
Most of these are on my tablet, rather than my Desire (something locks up, mostly when I'm playing music, and factory resets don't seem to help...) Games - Angry birds (Rio, Seasons), of course, Fruit ninja Robo defense Ceramic destroyer Apps - App Backup & Restore Super backup (contacts, SMSes) Network Speed Wifi File transfer MixZing basic - music player that'll access /extsd Hackers Keyboard - tablet Swype - phone calcoolator (sic) Zarchiver
The three games I always come back to are: Angry Birds (naturally) Bubble Buster Stupid Zombies All are free and very (very) simple, but are addictive and time consuming enough for what I need them to be.
Don't use the iplayer app, the video quality is awful compared to the mobile site, get on that instead. As Parge said, Osmos is just epic!
Try some of these: Apps: Juicedefender - Brilliant application for saving battery - even the free version Bit-Tech App - Someone had to say it Task List - List making app, helps you keep track of things Trainline Tickets - Handy for when you need to get train times after a night out Tunein Radio - Radio app, has a wide range of availible stations Games: Woodenigma - Puzzle game that should keep you occupied for a bit Angry Birds - If you've not heard of this, then you need to come out from under your rock
I've got a Tegra 3 Tablet, so i've got GTA 3, which is good fun, handles well too. Others in use are: TuneIn Radio Pro Dropbox Facebook Google+ Kingsoft Office Halo Waypoint Absolute Radio Kindle File Manager HD Camera ZOOM Angry Birds World of Goo And a few others not worth mentioning. Sam
