Yeah that one! Robin Williams is my age(almost) so we can laugh and relate to same stuff. I miss George Carlin too. And the early Richard Pryor. Saw him live in Vegas a thousand years ago.

Richard Pryor, Carlin and Demetri Martin are great.

Williams is pretty funny and I do like Chris Rock.

Eddie Izzard, Ross Noble, Tim Minchin, Bill Bailey, Dylan Moran. Think it's the slightly more surreal comedy they do that appeals to me.

I went to see Ricky Gervais two nights ago, and Russell Howard last.
Russell was 10x better in my opinion. Much more original.

Bill Bailey and Jimmy Carr have to be my Favourite tho. Jason Manford is also hilarious

How come nobody has mentioned George W. Bush? Great stand up act and perfect straight face too.

Bush isn't the same as a comic, really. I mean, yes, he was funny.

But he also cocked a lot of things up. I forget who said it, but "You can't throw a rock and not hit something Bush has ****ed up".

It'd be funnier if he wrote his memoirs in the style he ran the country, but without running the country.

Oh yes - Robin Williams, Richard Pryor, and the rest of the gang back in the 70s and into the 80s. God, that was some of the purest stand-up comedy gold.

For more recent fare I laugh hard at Eddie Izzard, and I generally enjoy any comedian who incorporates some kind of music into his or her act.
