So let's hear it what's your favorite Minis game? I've been Running a Skaven Army in Warhammer Fantasy for a few years but havr really been getting into Infinity and Warmachine. Running Cygnar for Warmachine and Nomad for Infinity. I can't give a full army list because then I'd have to admit how much I've spent on them.
At the moment my favourite tabletop game is Blitzkrieg Commander, with even movement relying on the roll of a dice it makes it a bit more of a challenge to plan tactics so I tend to find it more fun than the average game (though there are those moments where failed dice rolls mean nothing happens for a whole turn or two). As for Fantasy Battle, I quite like my Lizardmen army though I have far too many units... planning to paint and sell some off eventually. I've also got myself a collection of Dark Elves and Dwarves. I tend not to use the Dwarves so much though as GW seriously need to re-do their book because they're too overpowered (e.g. I took out an entire 1500pt Ogre army with a unit of Ironbreakers and a single Organ Gun, though my opponent wasn't very good at tactics). Big fan of the smaller gang-based specialist games as well (Mordheim, Necromunda, Malifaux, Killteams and so on), I think me and my friends spent near to 10 months playing nothing but Mordheim. You'll probably find most people in the hobby spend obscene amounts on their collection. If you haven't already, you should definitely swing by the Games Workshop topic over in the General area. Good group of tabletop fans in there and a lot of great pictures of models being built and painted.
My favorite tabletop board game has been Warhammer 40k. I had a 200 piece Necron army which is pretty insane but now its tucked up in my garage
Spent a good while playing Mechwarrior, still got the army somewhere in a box. Warhmmer 40k is another one which swings around every so often. Last army I built was Necrons and I'm tempted to start over with the new Codex and models. My only problem with Games Workshop is that they release a new rules set and then spend the next few years breaking it with every army release. They seem to realise they've created a ridiculously overpowered army and then build another army which can beat it and is then, in turn, overpowered. Of course, Risk is another game which is played annually. A good game can last a day or so.
I've played various Games Workshop stuff over the last 16 years. 40K, Fantasy, Necromunda, Battlefleet Gothic and Inquisitor. Overall, Necromunda has been my favourite with the depth it allowed and simple, but focused tactics in the game. Inquisitor was troublesome to play with the miniatures and making a viable game table was a pain in the backside, but the rules translate perfectly to Pen & Paper games if you have a good GM to oversee the game.
Lotta pictures in that thread lotta really nicely painted models or so I'm told. I can't really stand those threads due to massive envy as I can't to any of that. I'm Color Blind so I can only really do solid colors on my models. Color mixing shading even alot of the detail stuff is simply impossible for me to do.
i loved playing battlefleet gothic...but thats mostly faded into GW memory now... they need to completly re-do the models as they look a little dated ( comparied to the newer gw stuff ) atm im getting all my 40k back out of storage mainly space marines, but also have small numbers of orks, tau, eldar, and imperial guard
That sucks, a friend of mine has a minor colour-blindess but can see most colours fine. You should be able to look at some of the pictures for the general look though as a few of the guys in there tend to do really nice custom modifications on the bigger models. Never really got into Battlefleet that much, mainly because some of the guys around us playing it were absolute asses and made the experience dreadful. Quite like playing the odd game of Uncharted Seas though (almost a fantasy equivalent).
There are many tabletop War game available in the market but i like to play below games mostly. 1. War hammer 2. Lord of the Rings 3. War Machine
