im a huge sub fan, seems more authentic. yes, reading is a pain, but with fansubs, it what you have to do, if you want to watch unliscenced anime.
fansub subs, to me, are better than the subs on the DVD releases (official ones as well as "pirates")

it'll just take time to get used to reading whilst watching.

Hehe, there are some good dubs... ok by good, I mean acceptable... the dub of FLCL for example... I watched it once in Japanese, and again in English to try and understand

/me hands you excel saga and FLCL and tells you to watch them subbed :p:p
FLCL is generally considered one of the best dubs done though.

Fansub subs are much better cause they are often easier to read and give little extras which helps. Although i still think its nice to have the option :)

HK Bootlegs are aweful. They maybe cheap DVDs but they are the crappiest subs ive ever seen.

EDIT: ROFLMAO @ Monkeh :thumb:

    I have:

    Akira
    Appleseed
    Ghost In The Shell
    Macross Plus
    Metropolis
Neon Genesis 1 - 5 and DR and The End Of
    Ninja Scroll
    Noir 1 - 3
    Perfect Blue

First one was Akira, unbelievably cool.

I dunno if Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within would fit into this, but it's still amazing :D
