Conspiracy theories basically say a group of people agree to lie about something because it suits their goals and aims. I don't see what makes them so unbelieveable. Titanic - theory two near identical ships were built the olympic and the titanic. The olympic set sail about a year before the titanic. On its miaden voyage it was hit by a navy vessel designed for ramming boats. The keel was broken and the ship was effectively broken. However as it was deemed the Olympics fault there was no insurance money. When the boat limped to shore the crew were all forced to sign the officialy secrets and act and even though there was little work available virtually none of the crew would go back on the ship. the ship was docked and switched to look like the titanic. The broken olympic set off as the titanic with the express idea of sinking in the atlantic. Unfortunantely it hit an iceberg ( or a ship depending on who you listen to) in fog and sunk before it was supposed to. There were supposed to be relief vessels but they were expecting the planned sinking to start later and were not in place. the supporting evidence is seen as the similarity of the vessels ( olympic and titanic). The refusal of almost all original staff to continue to work on her ( despite a shortage of work at the time). The lack of proper sea trials for the titanic ( can't test a broken boat). Vessels allegedly there to turn up as makeshift life boats suddenly finding coal ( during a coal strike ) and setting off to sea empty apart from a few hundred blankets as cargo. The moon landing. I've seen the size of the craft and it is tiny - thats for enough rocket fuel to land and take off from the moon whilst carrying all the life support equipment - I'm not convinced. Also most footage when speed up looks little different from earth ( and they should be able to jump much higher with little gravity) but what I don't understand was why the russians didn't bust it. I've read they didn't have the power to track moon flights till 1972 but big telescopes must be easy for them to build right. 9-11 American government has become massivly powerful because of it. Anti terror powers mean they can spy and go to war where and when they like. There are loads of little bits of evidence that are indicative of a conspiracy - see "loose change" etc. It isn't proof of a conspiracy but then again the news say it was terrorist isn't proof that it was terrorists either. For any professional newsperson or politician to stand up to this is career suicide. Waco - texas seige - botched atf raid designed to gain publicity and funding ( A few facts .a couple weeks before the raid atf agents actually went shooting with david koresh and handed koresh a gun . Koresh went running alone and could have been taken then. the afts arguement against was that they were converting rifles to be fully automatic so they had to catch them in the act even though stocks of rifles are difficult to hide) . it's claimed the government set fire to the buildings either accidently or on purpose. Man made global warming - according to some is a lie. evidence they site - global warming on other planets. Change in global temperatures in the past when no significant man made co2. and rises in co2 usually following rises in temperature by decades and NOT the other way round. Paul McCartney died in 1960s and was replaced by a ( annoying ) man called "barry pepper" or William Campbell. both supposedly won paul mncartney look alike competitions. The freemasons are behind either non or all of this. Fluoride in our drinking water makes you obidient to authority which is why you don't believe any of this and all of the da vinci code is fact.
The Titanic conspiracy theories make me laugh. It wasn't even a controversial event, it was just a tragic accident. Who would even want to make up stories about something like that?! I've seen where she was built, I've seen just about every exhibit there has ever been about her and I've seen any videos there are or were of her being built and launched. The Titanic was not an insurance scam.

They're hosted by danny wallace and well worth a look. also lockerbie is seen by many as a conspiracy. Kinda apt considering our latest no fly zone war. the lockerbie conspiracy is a bit like the 911 conspiracy in that it muddies the waters and introduces doubt over the official version rather than prooving another theory. Clinton body count conspiracy says lots of people who could damage Bill Clinton ended up dead in suspicious circumstances and not forgetting a lot of people believe princess daina's and maryln monroes death were suspicious. Oh and jfks. I'm trying to start one about john lennons death just for completeness. That should cover just about every major cultural event since ww2 ( theres even a conspiracy about live8 saying it takes focus off 3rd world poverty and debt and becomes about musicains - see the movie starsuckers if you want to hear it)
I'd think accident first, but obviously a second plane hitting the same spot stops that train of thought. Accidents have happened before (google El-Al and Bijlmerramp) And that was a fully loaded 747 that hit that flat (the two buildings weren't seperated on forehand) The hole isn't as big as you'd expect, eh?
The El-Al crash above (for anyone who doesn't read obsessively about aircraft disasters, El-Al is the Israeli national airline, and the crash above was of a cargo-carrying 747 into a tower block filled with immigrants) had a great conspiracy theory to go with it - that the aircraft was carrying nuclear material for Israel's Dimona reactor. Evidence included traces of uranium found in the ruins of the building after survivors began to report symptoms much like Gulf War Syndrome. The eventually-discovered cause? 747s of that vintage have a depleted uranium counterweight located in the tail.

True. Hoever the Dutch government also came to the conclusion that about 1/3 of the cargo was unaccounted for. (classed as Classified by the Israeli gevenment) Hooray, the conspiracy theory lives! Actually, this should just be an example of how "little" destruction is causen by a plane, and there wasn't much left of it either (as was the case with the Pentagon plane)
Can't recommend Hunt for Zero Point strongly enough. Truly a book that will mess with your head. For me both the JFK assassination and parts of 9-11 are filed under "I don't know". There is a lot of contradictory evidence both ways and too many things that just don't make sense. A conspiracy theory I recently became aware of is that MLK Jr was not assassinated by James Earl Ray. Area 51 is not a conspiracy theory because it exists. What's going on there is up for a lot of debate though. I don't think it has anything to do with aliens, but I would really like to know where all those tax dollars are going. The last B-2 rolled off the assembly line in 1997. Doubtless some of the work has been on drones and radar cross section testing on existing aircraft and systems, but Why the extremely large new hanger built there since then? EDIT: In RE the Bijlmerramp crash, the aircraft struck the building at a 90 degree bank angle, i.e. with the wings vertical.
Thing with Area 51 like other military test and deveoplment facilities you will never find out whats going on there, more likely to be silenced if you ever found out.
Honestly, if you do a small read on the toxicity of the stuff, you'll realize that it is a poison. You also have warning labels on toothpaste There have been a lot of studies done on it and usually the conclusion is that fluoride does not significantly decrease the number of dental carries. People promoting the use of fluoride usually push the studies that show percentage of cavities in years before they fluoridated water and then in years after water became fluoridated. People discouraging the use of fluoride reference studies that show a general increase of dental health over time regardless of fluoridation. All I'm saying is that you should carefully look at both sides before disregarding it.
While all the ones posted thus far are cool and all, none of them really have any veracity nor credibility and can therefore be ruled to be outright fabrications of irrational minds. However, one of the most plausible, well-defined and real theories I've ever heard, which some could call a "conspiracy", though I feel it incorrect to call something that is so obviously true by such a negative term, would be that the current observed trend of global warming is caused by bald, professional basketball players. Lets look at the facts: - 80% of our body heat is emitted through our head. This is only exemplified by the loss of hair. - Most basketball players are bald, or have really short hair-cuts. - Basketball started in 1891, around the same time that global temperatures started to increase. - During strenuous exercise the human body gets even warmer than at rest, further encouraging heat-loss through the head. - The rise of basketball player numbers almost exactly follows global average temperature rise. It doesn't take a rocket surgeon to connect the quite obvious dots together and figure out that we need to immediately put a stop to basketball, and buy a hair-piece for every single bald person the world over, as to do otherwise would be to kill this planet and everything on it. As well, we can only expect the temperature to further rise in the future as basketball gets more prolific, especially with the indoctrination of our youth through schools and media sources putting such a detestable activity on display in such a favourable way. Basketball will be the death of us, just you wait!
