A bit of a thread resurrection! I watched Tron: Legacy recently and was mightily impressed by the art direction, CGI and music - everything, in fact, except for the plot and the acting. To restore my faith in neon-lit machinery, I cracked out the Lego: Just for the record, it's really, REALLY hard to make these things to minifig-scale. These aren't really my designs, but still.
Now's probably a good time to show off this: Fully working lego revolver with breakable chamber (although it's missing some rubber bands needed to fucnction in the picture). The rubber bands are actually loaded onto the chamber and released when hit by the hammer so the revolverness is actually functional and not just aesthetic although it's far more impractical that other methods of firing. I took apart my old one on Saturday and put this one together the improvements being the barrel is now unlocked by a pushbutton on the side rather than removing a bolt piece, it's now single action whereas before you had to press a separate triger to rotate the chamber and a few aesthetic touches. Everything works well apart from the chamber rotation as I can't get enough tourque from wrapping a rubber band round a spindle without exerting too much force on the structure so the chamber can only be wound back 2 or 3 places. Some of my older stuff here.
Knex, transformers, a few matchbox cars, some scale model cars (wheels fell off in no time though as they weren't quite meant for pushing along the floor
