WASHINGTON — Al Qaeda and other terror groups are more sophisticated in their use of computers but still are unable to mount crippling Internet-based attacks against U.S. power grids, airports and other targets, the FBI's top cyber crime official said Wednesday. Investigators keep a close watch on terror groups' use of computers but have not detected any plans to launch cyber-attacks against major public institutions in the United States, FBI assistant director Louis M. Reigel said. "I don't think that capability exists today," Reigel said in a briefing for reporters at FBI headquarters. Woo! And after all, we know how acurate the FBI has been in the past This has to be true! I believe. Do you?
China is taking over the cyberworld in other, much more lucrative ways. Most of our cool hardware is made in China. So can the paranoia already, dude. China is not going to mess with its economic consumer base.
Security experts lift lid on Chinese hack attacks Hacker attacks in US linked to Chinese military There are a lot more sources but I don't want to seem like that "robbins" character . I'm not imagining the Chinese cyber threat, though.
That is espionage, not sabotage --no big news; everyone is at it, and I'm sure that the US Military does a bit of hacking in foreign government computers on a regular basis. The latter articles make a few naive assumptions about hackers: I mean, does that guy actually know any hackers?
Why would power grids and airports be connected to the Internet anyway? Sure they could have websites but who would be stupid enough to connect the on/off switch to it?
so that the ppl can be lazy and do that sort of work from home!!! That episode of the simpsons comes to mind where homer gets "Large" and is incharge of the venting of the reactor
He watched the movie "Hackers" and now he's a pro! In fact I've watched it dozens of times so i'm n0w 4 5up3r l337 h3x0rz...
