Fractal Design Core 500 Mini Itx Watercooled -- FDC-500 Fully Watercooled mini ITX Components: CASE: Fractal Core 500 Fans: 3 x Corsair AF 120 (due to silence purposes) Aquacomputer Aquaero 6 with remote Mainboard: ASrock FM2A88X-ITX CPU : AMD 7700K @ 4.5 ghz RAM:8Gb Kingston HyperX Predator Beast @ 2133 mhz GPU: MSI - 970 PSU:Silverstone 600 W SFX SSD: 120Gb Samsung EVO HDD: 4Tb Wester Digital Red. (Depatched) Watercooling: Pump:Alphacool Vpp 655 Rad 1:EK - 120mm PE Radiator Rad 2:EK - 240mm PE Radiator Res: Bitspower 60mm CPU:EK - Supremacy MX Acetal GPU:EK - 670 block which fits the 970 Fittings :Not yet decided. Plans and Changes, The plans are quite simple, To get a full watercooled loop with both Cpu and Gpu watercooled, the case itself is able to handle it quite easy but some minor changes have to be made first, First i have to cut off a small portion of the top (like 2 cm in the front) to get the radiator unit in there while it is assembled, to be able to hardtupe the 120mm radiator and the 240 i have to tube them outside of the case and then put them together in there, and to be able to do so i need to take a cut. Where the gpu is placed i want to install a window to show off the beautyfull "poloshed Ek Waterblock on my Msi 970. Custom sleeved cables are a must in a small case like this, Shorten the cables on my Alphacool VPP 655 D5 pump, since they are almost 100cm long ;-) Colour.... Well for the colour i try to keep it simple ,i really like the black exterior since it fits right in with my tv and other components in the living room, Front panel will be optimized to house a Aquaero 6 from aquacomputer . it will probably be nessacery to remove some cables from the franpanel IO, but we will se. Huge Thank you to my sponsors who make it possible for me to do this Thank you Guys. Cables Led´s and other accessories are covered by http://www.icemodz.eu/ The case is provided by http://www.fractal-design.com/ so now that you know what i know, shell we continue with the Buildlog ? Enjoy. Start off with the unboxing of the case so you will get a better view on how compact this will be. Here are some of the components i will be using for this build, Keep in mind i am on the red team on this one #AMD https://linustechtips.com/main/uploads/monthly_03_2015/post-27499-0-38718300-1426449643.jpg
Hey everyone have been doing some work on the fractal design Core 500 case, mainly trying to get the radiators to fit into the case without making a mess inside the case, so the idea here is to get both radioators in and out together for easier installation, thats why a few cuts where nessacerry, #Dremel I still have to clean some things up though. the bracket that comes with the case needed only a minor change for the second radiator to fit perfectly. also started on shortening the cables for the pump, since a 70CM cable is really NOT nessacery for a mini itx Still waiting on some supplys to finish that though. It is also a crucial thing to remove cables you wont be using, when building a mini itx case, so i decided (mainly to be able to install the aqaero) to remove some cables from the front IO panel. Front Audio port will not be used, and i am not going to be using a BULKY usb cable for the front panel. Thats it for the time beeing, thank you for checking out my buildlog, Keep you posted,
Finally got the tool to finish the crimping on the d5 cables for the molex connector. sleeved the shortened cables in black to fit the theme. And changed the molex connector to a black one for that cleaner look. Sent from my LG-H960 using Tapatalk
Cables arrived Compliments to icemodz.com Love that paracord!! Now almmost all the cables in the fractal core 500 are sleeved. Also thinking of sleeving the frontpanel cables... Keep u posted. Sent from my LG-H960 using Tapatalk
Hey everyone. Did the tubes for this one and cleaned the loop properly. Next i have to do some cosmetic work to put a little bit of finess on this build. Sent from my LG-H960 using Tapatalk
Well everything is tubed up and loquid is running. Now some cosmetic aspects. Little teaser pic. Look @ that blue Sent from my LG-H960 using Tapatalk
