    Hi,

    fedora: version 16, Server edition

Newbie to Linux and trying to setup nfs, have the following issues

    1. apt-get command not found
    2. dkpg command not found
    3. nfs is not installed by default (Have read it is meant to be)

I do have a working rpm if that helps?

    Kind Regards,

    DT.

Debian version 16 ? What ? The latest Debian is 6.0.6.

Are you sure it is not Fedora ?

Well Fedora uses yum for starters. That is :
    Code:
    yum search packagename
    yum install packagename
The separate issue is the internet access, do you see your network devices listed in the Network Manager applet (the one which looks like a classic network icon with two computers) ? If yes, did you tried to click on the device to start it ?

As faugusztin said yum is the package manager on fedora (which is based on Red Hat and there for uses the red hat package manager which yum is part of).

Are there any adapters listed (ifconfig -a)?
