    Wow! 50-55 hours a week!

I work 20 hours a week from 8-5pm and only on Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday till noon. But I also find myself feeling sluggish and tired. I often go to bed around 1 am and get up around 7:50. On the days I don't work I usually sleep till noon. I play racquetball twice a week, so I am getting some exercise, but I skip breakfast and often lunch and have a late dinner. I have maybe 30oz of soda a week, and don't drink coffee. I am going to take the advice from Nexxo and others and try a regular eating and sleeping habit. As an afterthought I wonder if spending 12 hours a day sitting in front of a pc has an effect on me feeling like crap. I would guess so.

Edit: Today I actually woke up at 5:30 am and read/snoozed until 7, then I stopped on my way to work to grab a rare cup of coffee and a muffin. I think starting my day not being in a rush has had a positive effect of me, aside from being a little tired.

In the US, the average salaried professional level job's compensation is based on 55 hours. It's normal. There is nothing "wow" about it. "wow" starts at 80 hours a week.

sounds like your feeling better already thats great.

when i did my final exams at uni iwas drinking 2 - 3 2l bottles of coke a day (which i would very rarely drink other wise) over the course of about 3 weeks needlessly to say coming off it was a bitch but i litterally went cold turkey for 3 days and felt fine. i despair at work when someone will get up every 45 mins or so to make a cup of coffe for everyone (i dont drink coffee) thats probably in the region of 10 cups a day the gys must have.
unless i have missed it you havnt mentioned any excercise. the post earlier of 'excercise do it bitch' is spot on my GF is a bit over weight but that doesnt bother me , what i'm worried about is that she falls ill quite easily my fear is that with her excercise levels she will fall ill around 40 - 50 and not have the strength to recover properly. im trying to get her out more but time is an issue with two young professionals and myself being all over the country playing rugby at the weekends, she has been really been into her wii fit these last couple of weeks though which is great i do have a great idea for her christmas preseant tho
anyway getting back on topic if you do a solid 3 days a weeks of good excercise (you get out of breeath and feel a sweat) for 4 weeks and get of the caffeine and sugar the difference you will notice will be immense, i say this to a few people but really 4 weeks worth of excercise to turn your life around is nothing

oh and also i find that if i'm feeling particularly low on energy i go and get my hair cut short then have a good long shower and shave (give my pubes a trim whilst im at it) when i get home always makes me feel ready to take on the world

Do you by chance work 55 hours a week? Half I spend in the office and the other half I'm out in the field doing service calls. 55 hours is pretty tough if you ask me. :p I don't get paid enough to put in 80 hours lol.

:hehe: I swear man some of the things people share on the interwebz. Thanks for the input though, I really do need to get some exercize. I live in the Smoky Mountains with hundreds of hiking trails, I really have no excuse to not be getting more exercise.
