Bit of a weird one here.
When transfering files between my PC and laptop, they go much faster if I 'push' them than if I pull them. ie if I copy the files from the PC and paste them onto one of the laptop's shared folder, it's much faster than if I copy a file from one of the laptop's shared folder and paste it into a local folder. It's the same if I'm working from my Laptop.

The 'push' speeds are 10-15MBps and 'pull' speeds are 100-200KBps.

This happens on both a direct wired connection and a wireless one. Also happens both using homegroup and when using standard network sharing.
Using Windows 7 64 bit on my PC and 32 bit on my Laptop.
    TIA

it's the write speeds that differ.. one is faster than the other

you probably don't have the chipset drivers installed on your desktop
