Windows File Type Problem

ok, this is my problem.
I just downloaded a application(exe) but when i see the file. It said EX_ file.
so i tried to add to rename it to exe but the EX_ is still there.
need some help

do you have file types in the name ??? i'll tell you how to turn it on

 

opem a folder and go to tools-options -view-and un tick the hide extensions for knowa file typs
