I've got a few LED's I need to file down, and I was wondering how much, is too much? (Obviously if I've hit wires, I've gone to far... :D)

Basically, you've got it right. You can look inside the LED and see where the die and wires go, and you can remove just about all the material outside of that. Grab a handful of cheap LEDs and try it a few times to get the hang of it before you try it out on your good LEDs.

Thanks for the responses guys. I've got a bunch of different LED's on the way, but the LED's I'm looking to file, are attached to a fan controller. As with anything, they could be replaced if needed, but I'd prefer to avoid it.
