@HortBP - its not that powerful TBH, would be nice to complement it with some I7 goodness but i have spent enough, and this was all about the looks not the performance, although 18500 in 3Dmark06 is still good enough for today's games.

I wouldn't sell it! You could never get an amount of money for it that would reflect the amount of time you've invested at this point. And you would miss it when it was gone.

Hi guys, thought i would give you another tiny update as its been a while. I fixed the leak and all was well, but then yesterday the pump stated squealing was read hot and had fluid pissing out of it.

I have purchased a new res top, also the coolant i needed has come back in stock so i order twice as much as i need so i defo dont run out again. Somehow i lost 10m of 10/8 hosing so i have ordered some more.

I have also found another supplier for the cable i need so that's been ordered..

I have email over 10 laser cutting companied non of which (bar 1) has been any help what so ever. I have emailed a few more but if anyone can recommend one to me so i can just get this finished

That sucks about the pump mate, may be time to RMA it.

 

Yeh only provlem is the pump it "Butcherd" to my custom tast, no way they will take it back

 

Ok guys sorry it been a bit quite, but im pretty confident i have all the pieces (or on order) to complete this build (im excited).

Sorry there has been no update for a while, everything seems to go wrong  having issues after issue with the laser cutting.

This weekend i final has all the parts to complete the PSU!


First i tried one of the GFX card cables.



Next i moved on to the customer connecter that will power the cd drive fan and HDD.


Close up on the cat? Ok...




One fluke was the sata cable.... Very lucky it fitted.



Then i tried to put it in the PC and i would not fit  the hard drive was round the wrong way.. DOH. So lucky i made the power cable for the HDD long. Wow.. Lucky twice within 30 mins... Not like this build!


Then it was on to the 24 extention cable.


Then on to the PCU itself.


I cut off the 5v “fan” cables.


Off with the 4pin CPU cable.



Then i made a face with the mess..


Cable all ready.


First one done!


Finished.


Testing.


Now all I’m waiting for the lasering till i can finish it. Also i think im going to re-wire all the pumps and fans.

Nice work mate.

I gotta say using the coloured wire gives a very pleasing result. In my eyes this always looks
a lot better than the bulky looking sleeving with heatshrink on the ends.

 

Exactly why I did it Sleeving has been done to much and TBH I'm not really a fan!

Ive been thinking about doing something to achieve the same results without taking my psu apart!

BTW the rest of the build is also amazing absolutely loving it, up there with the best IMO
