    Hi all,

had lots of help from you fine people so wanted to just double check my final build, its mainly for virtual machines hence the large ram and 3930k instead of a 2600k build:

    Fractal Design Define R3
    Intel Core I7-3930K
    Be quiet DARK ROCK PRO
    Asus P9X79 PRO
    x2 Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 1600Mhz
OCZ ZX Series 850W 80+ GOLD PSU
Asus GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB GDDR5 Dual DVI Mini HDMI PCI-E Graphics Card
    OCZ 120GB Agility 3 SSD
    Corsair 180GB Force 3 SSD
    Antec 120mm TrueQuiet Fan

    Thanks

the 16 GB LP set of that ram should be cheaper.

Can not see why you need a big GPU for V. machines.
and if you want to play I would suggest a 570 GTX, costs more but will be good for longer.

2 SSD's? Why? Get one and a big storage drive.

Also will you actually be gaming on it much, because for a machine with a primary purpose of VM's, thats a bit overkill.

What monitor will you be using, out of interest?

    hey,

yes I'll be gaming on it to hence the graphics card, I read the gtx 560ti was good and that sli ing 2 would be a good improvement should I need it latter.

I have samsung 26inc screen model escapes at the moment, I can check and post later..

cpu im thinking multithreading for vm is win I know not great if any benifits for anything else, but 90% of my time will be testing work loads of sql server and share point, id prefer to get a expensive but hopefully long lasting pc now then find in few months a cheaper one can't handle the loads im putting it on.

2 ssd is purely to keep os and vms seperate

    thanks
