Finally, Asus seem to have listened to the people and have put a high end mobile GPU into the G series laptops. Bindi, find the person responsible for making this happen and shake his hand from me. Now I can finally get the laptop I want without feeling like I've compromised on something. Lets's hope the price isn't too high. http://rog.asus.com/239892013/g-series-laptops/asus-introduces-the-republic-of-gamers-g750-laptop/
Well, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a woman who finally got a bunch of people to do something that was obviously needed. But the point still stands, find them and shake their hand. Shake it good.
Should be available in August when GTX 780 parts arrive (afaik) EDIT: If you want to know anything about it give me a shout. There's a G750 forum on ROG with stickies that have some details and I'm doing an upgrade guide shortly.
Nice that they are getting decent graphics in them, but why are they getting more Vram on a laptop gpu than on a desktop pc?
It's just a typical selling point for NBs. Over many years sales channels and media are typically different so buyers are pushed in different directions.
Great news. All they need to do now is sort out their warranty procedure, offer UK based RMA (and not to the Czech republic and charge £18 handling fees) and things will definitely be looking up.
