So after a couple of weeks of deliberation and help from you guys at Bit-tech I've decided on my Core i7 build.

    ATCS 840
    i7 920
    Asus p6t mobo
    Corsair Dominator DDR3 1600
    NVIDIA 285 GTX
edit: RS-850-ESBA - 850W Coolermaster Real Power M850 Modular PSU
    Thermalright Ultra 120 heatsink
    SAMSUNG Spinpoint F1 HD103UJ 1TB 7200 RPM

    any comments/advice?

Nothing except I wish I had the money to build a machine like that >.<
Although you could consider going for a modular power supply. But that's all :)

J/w, how much is the total cost?

+1 for modular PSU. Check the Corsair HX620, should be plenty enough for that system. Or if you find Be Quiets in local shops you might get one of them.

Looks good. The only things that could be changed are the graphics card (a 4850X2 is much cheaper and is a faster cars) and the heatsink, to a HDT-S1284EE ans the associated mounting bracket.

Excellent heatsink reviews. Also, to get value-for-money, anything by Akasa or Xigmatek/OCZ (OCZ coolers are rebranded Xigmateks) will be fairly cheap and have good performance for the price.

Also, if you're absolutely sure about SLI, then I'd say go for the modular HX1000 (unfortunately there isn't a model between 620W and 1000W) but it gets excellent reviews and I have a Corsair power supply and love it.
