Original story This is what drives the pro-lifers / conservartive christians crazy is that the people who are having kids out of wedlock and having abortions are adults who are choosing to. They really can't grasp that some people don't share their values and make choices that they would not make. Personally, I think abortion is a wonderful thing. Any woman who doesn't absolutly want a child shouldn't have one. People are better off not being born than being born into circumstances where they are not wanted.
I think you're not really grasping the point of Pro-Life groups. Their issue is Not "having kids out of wedlock" but rather the choosing to end a life. In response some Pro-Choice groups argue that a fetus is not a "human life" until born - or at least later in the pregnancy (this is the stance the Canadian Supreme Court took). I don't really want to get into a debate about who's right or wrong but please don't misrepresent the sides.
Well, seems good to me. Lack of money to properly raise a child seems like one of the best reasons for not bringing another mouth into the world. But then I'm pro-choice up untill about 69 months. Up untill then they're not really human.
I couldn't agree more. I find it disturbing that people would rather a child be brought into this world unwanted than have a termination.. In my opinion, a fetus during the early stages of pregnancy is not and cannot be classed as a human.
I'm not being entirely serious. More just implying that with our current society saying we can pretty much pick and choose when life begins, based upon our own judgement of what makes a lifeform a "human life" - I can easily pick any age up to about 10 or 11, and say that because before then the child lacks some function or part of their mind that we call human, that they are not truly human and therefore terminable. That or kids annoy me and I was making a joke. But I'm so sarcastic these days even I don't know....
I'd love to see figures on what percentage of pro-lifers adopt unwanted children, both newborn and older.
