In other words, Say Hello To Sellouts. Sorry... just had to use that word. Best way to insult an album. But it's true.. I absolutely LOVED What It Is to Burn - the songs stuck in your head and you could somewhat singalong to them. They made an effect on you. I've been listening to the preview on Amazon.com and I'm thoroughly unimpressed... they sound like yet another emulation of Papa Roach or whatever, and it's depressing. None of the tracks make an effect on you, or grab you like the previous album. No way am I buying this pile of codswallop! I'll go shed a tear for a band that had potential but wrecked it all...
You can say what you like about say hello to sunshine (i'm not really a fan of it) but it's WAY less accessible than what it is to burn, therefore, they're not sellouts. Reading about the album and apparently the reason it's been so long coming is the record label wanted more "singles" (they're signed to Geffen now), and the band wouldn't give in. AH
Sounds like a major Faith No More 'influence' in there. Either way, sounded horrible when I heard it in a record store the other week. My girlfriend said it sounded like Linkin Park. Haha. Great album art though. I haven't seen any other Jeff Soto covers.
It's really different to What it is to Burn. A couple of the songs sound like some other band but I can't quite put my finger on who.
I think it's sad the band thought they needed to change their sound. Now they just sound like yet another punk/screamo/whatever band.. ..so sad.
I swear to good, every song I heard off there new album (about 4) they sound identical to Hoobastank and there old stuff?... What it is to burn is class...but ah well There not selling out though, selling out is what The Used did.. - M@
Well I like the new album, listening to it as Im typing. The first time I heard it I didnt like it, but it grows on you for sure. Brother Bleed Brother and Ink are probably my favourite songs on the album.
Even though it sounds different at first, stick with the album, and it'll grow on you. It sounds shite at first, but it really has grown on me (especially track 6 - "Butterflies")

Wow, my album cover has a mis-print... It's not like it's a bootlegged copy either, it came from musiczone. :\ Oh and penski? Chill dude.
Dude, you know as well as I do that there's no point taking anything penski does seriously. Nothing to get worked up about. AH
