Finding the right power supply for a motherboard

    i have a motherboard here but i'm not sure exactly what power supply to buy for it. how do i find out?

    Any PSU should do tbh. 24-pin ones will fit 20-pin connectors happily.

    unless it's BTX, if I remember correctly they take a different PS.

    Ok, assuming it's not the unusual BTX, and totally outdated AT, an ATX 20+4pin PSU should easily cover any mobo that isn't Dell...

    BTX and ATX are the same.

    thanks a lot for your help! it is an atx motherboard, i bought it separate. it's not dell. 20+4 pin connection and i tried it out and everything turns on right and it's working.

    The ATX power supply wattage you need will depend on the processor and graphics card fitted, and level of overclocking.
