allright, im done the case 1 month, deep cuts, severed fingers, and one hell-of-a-rush later--i am finally finished this is the piece that i cut my finger off doing on the bandsaw, u can see 2 fan exhaust, i have no fan to cover the other hole, and i am grill-less for both holes. closeup of the fan the motherboard mounting and connections are shown here, aproxximately 1/4 of the way down the length of it there at the top is where my finger jumped off of my hand the infamous psu mounting, and yes, its supposed to be upside-down for specific reasons that i am unsure of yet. here is a closeup of the radiator vent, the grill will be put on at a later date, and then i will post pics here is a front-left shot of the case showing the drives and the 2 fans with their grills and the power/hdd activity LEDS that are barely visible above my power switch here is the front-right view showing the leds and power button more clearly here is the right-side view painly showing the liquid cooling system here is by far the best pic of my cold cathode hidden in there god knows where, but yea here is a top view of the psu, and once again, it is supposed to be upside down, im just not sure why at the moment. and finally, the top-right view of the case in the dfark with the cold cathode light beaming off its powers. any suggestions NOW? or perhaps some comments
Looks cool A couple of suggestions 1. "Window" etch 2. Looks like you have a slight cable management problem. may want some spiral wrap/split loom Otherwise looks good
Yer Two. Apart from nice job obviously hehe. Dimensions for the case please 'and' the dimensions for your motherboard mounting, designing a case of my own right now and i really like the way you mounted that mobo, save me a lot of time if i could nick the measurements . Would solve a hell of a lot of problems for me, considered the design but discarded it after realising i might run out of space but in yours theres plenty left, which comes back to dimensions please .
my psu came with plenty of extra cable wrap which i wrapped around ALL of the psu connectors, i have splitloom around every other wire in the case :/ i plan on putting a megaman etch on as soon as i get $4 for the dremel bit oh yes, the dimensions 18" wide x 18" deep x 14" tall the motherboard mounting process was SIMPLE, i simply un riveted an old backing from a case and stuck it in a slot that i cut out then i laid the mobo on the bottom lined up with the backplating and marked for the mounts then i used standard 1" motherboard mount and screwed into the holes that i marked and cut out with a rather small drill bit screwed the mobo on and it was all good.
Cheers very much m8, mobo mounting had been niggling at me, using a juno p6 for my main box now a nice swing out tray which im gonna have to lose i know. And theres little point in gutting this one just for a removable tray ill never be able to remove. Another issue sorted.
rofl the camera is actually really nice, just its got this dial on the front to use for focusing, and it doesnt show the focusing thinger through the view, and so u can never tell if its perfect, it pisses me right thte hell off so stfu about my camera before u make me cry :cries:
Nice looking case! A nice engraved window etch might look good on there, but its just a case of what the etch will be :dude: I think Im gonna get round to doing one myself too On a more serious note: if you are being sarcastic, add a smiley to the end, such as a or of course a .... it stops the person you aim the sarcasm at taking it the wrong way, thinking you are deadly serious.
well MY BAD BIGGIE hehehe anyways, ive got a megaman etch that im putting on the front: OMG I LOST MY JPG OF MEGAMAN
Nice cube. Did you happen to do any bending? I've read about heating it from a distance. I haven't seen anything regarding the protective sheet during the bending process. Are there any caveats there?
define caveats, heh i did do some bending i made little 1.5" wide corner brackets out of plexiglass, they were just heated up along the middle with a hot wire, and then bent to a 90deg angle then bolted and glued onto the case
Should the protective film stay on during the bending process? Is the protective film sensitive to heat, more than the acrylic/lexan itself? That is, if you get too close, will it melt at all and possibly stick to or do damage the acrylic? Or is it a matter of burning/damaging the protective layer will be enough to damage the acrylic?
u should take the protextive film off, if u dont have a hot wire. then just hold it about 2cm off of your stove when its on medium untill u are able to bend it
I'm confused about something....with water cooling, why do you have sooo many fans in that thing? Also, i think your psu should be turned around, the fan you have on top is meant to be an intake, to suck air from below it and blow it out the back. Hvant checked out the new pics yet, but i'm getting ready to 8)
as u can see i cut it out backwards, heh, i was hoping noone would notice but MY BAD ia have all the fans in there because allthough my cpu runs at 20C, my mobo runs at 28C, and my videocard at 35C, and my videocard doesnt have a fan on it, so yea, it kinda broke when i decided that it would be more convienient to run it fof a molex....i guess it wasnt the average 12V fan :/ heh, anyways, i also have a uncooled maxtor 40gb 7200rpm drive and it gets toasty, AND, my CDBURNER, which i recently raped its fan from because it got too noisey from me, is also running too hot like i said in the earlier post ^^ http://66.183.21.94:3000/fileserver/finished_Case/digital/ to see more pics of the case taken with a digital camera, it also includes more detailed and zoomed in photographs
bah, this is teh worst mod ive ever done i cant believe what a piece of $$$$ it is, seriously you want me to point out the flaws with this jewbagel? 1) i cant screw the expansion slots in because the plexiglass is too thick 2) the cdroms are alligned on the back of the case because their too big to fit through, and widening the whole wont cut it 3)the psu is upside down 4) im scared ****less to stick a vacuum in my case to clean it up from the dremel 5) i have NO idea why, i used the same glueing methods as linear, but when i move the case the whole thing cracks as if its about to collapse on itself 6) the motherboard isnt even mounted in 7) if you move the case the peripheral cards either come out, or short the psu out, 8) the top cover doesnt line up PERFECTLY, and i have no way of mountin it on mbecause my poor-4$$ cant afford thumbscrews 9) because i feel that there should be a 9th point
bee this isnt a criticism cause my hands shake too thx to mountain dew. get a 5 dollar tripod for your camera, the pictures will be a ton clearer btw nice work
