    Hey peeps!

I'll get my cheapo case tomorrow, and after xmas, I'm gonna start modding it!
The case is a unknown model from Sweex (it was really cheap! just 12 quid!), that looks like this:

Anyone got any ideas what I can do with it? I'm thinking of removing all weird stuff on the sides and put tinted plexi, and make a new front, with tinted plexi in it to. (hehe)

Things I absolutely will do is making room for a 120mm fan in the front, and silence it.. and as I said, I'll start after xmas! :dremel:

That's gonna have to be a pretty huuuuuge window to get rid of all that design.

Other ideas.... I guess that standard really, CCFLs, LEDs, spray/powder coat, VFD, stealthing drives etc....

well you could do as mentioned earlier and cut a window in it, im thinking if yu wanna get rid of the stuff that you probably could use some bondo on it...but I have never used it before so I'm not sure

bondo is filler for well holes and stuff. It is mostly used in car's(at least thats all i ever really here it used). Bondo would fill all those holes up but it can get pretty messy to do it so the easiest way to fix your delima would be cut that out and put either plexi glass or like a sheet of metal to cover it up.

Use Bondo I used it for my fisrt timeand it was easy peasy...

Have something flat thall lay against the inside of the panel, flush to the panel,...mix your bondo,...spread it on like Drywall putty,...letter dry,...sand.

    See what I did.

Same panel....One area bondoed up....(yeah i know one pic is upside down :duh: )

you should stealth all the cd rom drives.
there is a tutorial on it somewhere ill look later
you should also do a window in some kind of shape. if i was you i would have the plexi etched with a pic of something on it.

i wanna see how this comes out good luck

ok, made a fast drawing of my ideas in sketchup:

I'm gonna make a new little front, without any ugly cd's or anything. And since I'm to lazy for making any big holes on the sides of the case, I'll just place heavily tinted plexi there ^^

All tints will be red, and the case'll be black :hip:

    ok, nice!

havent started yet since I've been hanging with my mates a bit to much.. and I've got no camera atm (exept webcam, and nobody likes that..)

Although, when I go to malmö (town not far from here, where u can buy cool stuff) to return one of them multitools, I'll pick up some modding stuff, and then I'll start at once. (wedensday or thursday..)

edit: Stripped the case down, and I've got to say, it aint heavy! But it aint very stabile.. I'll see what I can do to fix that..

(Btw, this is my first mod evah*.. so I hope it turns out good.. or I'll loose all my selfrespect :wallbash: )

    ok, question:
Can the buttons from a mouse be used as power on and reset buttons? (How much power can they handle? and how much power goes through the button?)

would sure be cool to have them :)
    (dead again :waah: )

Ok, seems very dead, but I'll keep on posting anyway...

Made a ugly sketchup of the front in photoshop.. it'll look something like this:

as I said, it's a very ugly sketch.. hopefully, the real thing'll be better.
