Does anyone know how to make Firebird download more than 2 files at once? I know how to do it for IE, with a simple registry tweak, but how for Mr Moz?
I know I've had at least 3 downloads going at once in Firebird. I didn't see a setting to change it though.
From the same server? I think the default for most browsers is to only download 2 files from the same server at a time. I'd rather it was 10 or so.
I had never noticed anything about that until I read this. Hmm.... There may be something that you can set in a config file. See here. But I didn't see anything specifically spelled out. I'll keep looking though.
Sorry for the thread revival but I was wondering how to do this today and a search on here/google didnt reveal much. To get more than 2 simultaneous downloads in firefox type "about:config" (without the quotes) into the browser window, then about 60 lines down there is a field called Broswer.Download.Manager.Retention, double click this and change the value from 2 to however many simultaneous downloads you want. [EDIT] OK random but when I posted this message it added a "_" after the word about. You need to type the about config thing without the underscore Ive had about 15 downloads going at once (testing to see if it worked) so there may be some server side limitations but I havent come across any yet
I didnt know that about firebird - useful info. Sometimes the 2 files per site can be a limitation imposed by the site itself I believe?
