    I use IE... its easy.

However, in work I've installed a new Web Based monitoring box for the chillers/freezers in work etc, and have to use Firefox to change user permissions. (Can't access this bit in I.E) and I absolutely HATE it. Its slow, cumbersome... IE is much quicker doing everything else on the box.

eep, too many IE lovers here - I find that very surprising.
I've not exactly had problem with IE, but Firefox gives me so much more.
And I've not had any problems with FF either.
The thread (and article) title worried me, that's to be sure.

With all the wild claims from the fanboys out there I'm surprised a totally bug-free Firefox ver.99.0.0 isn't being shipped today, with its Centenary edition out tomorrow.

I mean, it's Open Source, innit? Everybody can work on it! :sigh:

After so many cries, I'm starting to think that microsoft might make something for win2000 users. At least some kind of patch for IE6...

I've been using Firefox from USB stix in school for a year now =D

I have gotten use'd to firefox (since phoenix if I remeber correctly). Whenever I use IE I try to open windows in tabs and use a search bar at the top..

It's the best, but I can't realistcly see it being a major threat to Microsoft, after all, they are both free. sort of.

If that rumor about IE7 not supporting CSS2 turns out to be true then I don't know what the hell the guys at MS are thinking. Standards are the most important thing when it comes to global markets. How can they even think about releasing something which won't let everyone view the web in the same way. I am glad they are delaying Longhorn to improve security and efficiency etc. but if they rush out IE6+tabs in the hopes of slowing Firefox without making any proper improvements then :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash:

    From the article:
    CSS2 isn't a standard.

The headline scared me, till I opened the link and read that it's just being renamed. *PHEW*

Yes OK, it's not a standard but what other equivelents out there are there that let you do the same thing? Besides, that's how all standards start out - as RFCs which as they become more and more accepted become the standard. If IE doesn't follow CSS then what will it follow? Some other rival standard? How hard will that make things for the web developer?

Surely microsoft have a history of ignoring standards and going their own way - MP3 or WMA...?

I don't care what I use as long as it works, but IE sure as hell doesnt work as well as Firefox so guess what I use ;)

Although HTML and CSS don't work like that, the W3C writes up a draft, and eventually votes it in as a standard. CSS2 is still in draft.
