I can't seem to fit my 5.25 DVD drive into the bay of my CM Strom Scout case... I had a look at what the problem was, and there seems to be some raised metal bumps on the right hand side. Across from the tooless clips. Is this normal? They're on all the 5.25 bays and seem to be preventing me from putting anything in them

    Help!!

humm... What are peoples thoughts on just filing it down with a metal file? Can't think of any other way around it

Are you sure you've fitted the tool-less install clip things properly?

    Yup...

In the end i just filed it until a good hard shove got it in. I think i can see what it's for. It's meant to be a spring like thing so your drive fits nicely. Which is kinda stupid considering it's as solid as a rock :(

It's either that or all 5.25 drives come with a groove except mine. Find that a bit unlikely though. Wish Cooler Master had made a more sensible drive/ had better QC!!

I still wonder if I've missed something though... No one else seems to have this problem...

Was the tool-less slider in the "open" position when you were trying to slide the drive in? In my CM case, those metal bits only "pop out" when the tool-less slider is "locked".
