How well does your PC travel on airplanes, fit into a locker, travel to and from work every day, play the latest games, and can include a decent monitor in the package?

A laptop like this has a specific target audience, and that audience can afford the price (it's actually quite reasonable when stacked up against other gaming capable systems I have looked at).

the acceptability of the size and weight are going to be highly dependent on the individual, but keep in mind that, IMHO, these systems were not meant to be carried around with you all day. This is not a machine intended to be carried from class to class in a university. It is not meant to be constantly away from a power outlet either. It is meant to give you a reasonable replacement for a desktop that can actually travel well.

If you want a computer to use on the go, you will need to sacrifice some power, and probably settle for an IGD.

I would ravel with 2 systems. One would be my powerful laptop (a Dell Inspiron 9400, it is well past it's prime now) and a smaller notebook. Originally it was a Toshiba M200 I got for cheap because it needed to be fixed, now it's a netbook. But smart phones are getting better, and it may be possible that in a few more years, I will only need the high end laptop and my phone.
