yup, this is my first mod ever, almost done. what ive done is that ive painted the case, cut out a window, put in some plexi and a CCFL. whats left is that i have to cut out a hole for the CCFL switch, and varnish (dont know if its the right word) the case more pics at THIS PAGE
Looks good so far, do you happen to have any more pics from the earlier work on it? I guess the word you are looking for is polish btw
ha! you're at almost the same stage i am, i need to do another coat or two of paint. cuz a hole for the switch(and fan) and then i'm done pic finally loaded, very nice.
Very, Very Nice! I particually like the Half Life logo in the center, they way you have it lit is absoloutely perfect So don't you dare mess with the lighting!
Holy fap Batman. At first I thought that was a Lian Li. Good job on the painting, love the window, and while I don't like Half-Life (ow! Stop throwing things at me guys! Ow, no sharp pieces!) I dolove the cut out in the centre, Like Stew said, the lighting is perfect. Keep up the works of good, young modder, some day you will command vast amries before you. Weeee! I have caffeine!
Wow, you learn somethign new everyday. Cool. Now that looks even cooler now I cna associate it with somethign that isn't Half-Life (yeah I really hate that game)
He would've needed a plasma cutter to get through the Delltanium armor sidding One idea though it to cut out the Dell logo on the front and back light it, I think that would rather cool.
thanx everyone i dont have any pics from the earlier work on it but this is how it looked from the start sorry for the small pic, couldnt find a bigger the side was kinda anoying, but i just removed the metal plate on the inside and cut just in the plastic, i used a dremmel wannabe thing and lots of sandpaper i dont have to cut out the dell logo, just remove the front of the case and remove the text piece but i need some leds to light it with cause it has like 2 metal plates and some more stuff in the way so the CCFL dont get to it :/
fear the Delltanium armor sidding! and while i was still playing with the spray pain i repainted some other stuff from the start the bookholder thingges where in 3 different colours, 1 black, 1 brown and 1 orange.
DUDE YOUR GETTING A DELL! Maybe I should do some more work to mine and post pics of the front mounted LCD in an odd position.
I definitely DISLIKE the cabel mess inside .... but that's sorta like everything I can ever dislike on THAT case! Excelent job ! (btw you sorted out the cables on back very, very well)
no it isn't, half-life rocks the world so it deserves the use of the lambda symbol... I always think of it as that except when in physics lectures/exams etc btw: nice work jake, that halflife logo () looks really sweet in the middle
THat's the best looking Dell case i've seen in a long time. I actually put down Half-Life instead of Lambda on a test once...Never again..
RAMeLaiR: yeah i have, but not many places to put, but i think i can put one under the left side of the window, or a really small in the top or the back, the rest of it is filled with stuff iSteve the pic on the window when its bright in the room is old, try to look at the pic with the ccfl in the dark. Ive replaced the old IDE cables with round IDE cables and fixed some other cables and my next project will probably be a metal keyboard i have a secret plan, but i wont tell u yet
that definetly r0}{5!!! though I'm opposed to small windows this one does look good....however...either ditch the duct(for the cpu im betting)or paint it!
