Here's a pic of my first case mod. The HD window has been enlarged and the drive has been painted with anodized paint. Should be done tonight. It will be mounted in the drive bay window. More pics to follow.

how long did it take you to lap that heatsink? i know i spent like 2 hours on my amd retail one ... went from 600 to 2000, and polished it out with artic silver on a paper towel ... made it really mirror-y

It took me about an hour. I used 240/400/600/1500. Also used ASIII (still waiting for it to dry :sigh: ).

You have a long wait ahead of you. Arctic silver doesn't "dry" :)

You're right... I guess it would have been better to say that I'm waiting to "achieve maximum particle to particle thermal conduction and for the heatsink to CPU interface to reach maximum conductivity." :D

That's better. Umm wait a minute, have you put the heatsink on the CPU yet? Because it takes a few weeks to "achieve maximum blah blah blah" :) and shouldn't you be running the system? The information on Arctic Silver's website says that you will notice a drop of a few degrees over that time (ie. system on).
