I'm trying to get a eMac to register a wireless card, I've physically installed it but system profiler doesn't detect the card. I've read some stuff online and it appears that sometimes they just don't work

Any apple tips I should know? I've reseated the card several times and cleared the PRAM but it's yet to detect the card.

The only thing I can think of is an air duster for the contacts, think that's worth getting?

Edit: You do just shove it in and OSX should automatically detect it, right? :worried:

I've had a DOA airport extreme before. Be sure you have it right side up and stick the antenna in. If you seated a working card right and have up to date software it will detect automatically.

AFAIK it's 10.3.9, it's not as advanced as 10.4 anyway. Would that cause problems?
