I was wondering what type of G1/4 fittings I can use for copper tubing. Could I use regular compress fittings somehow? I'd like to have the fittings in copper as well, and alphacool has some nice ones. My copper pipes are 12mm OD.

I'm no expert, but as far as I understand they're not *really* up to it, they can manage but it's a big risk. Much better off using conventional pipe fittings. I'm sure B-ve' will be along shortly, if not I'll point him at you.

Brass fittings can be easily copper plated. Either buy copper sulphate solution, or make your own either from powder or by seeping copper in sulphuric acid. Put in your brass fittings, and some iron (any old iron) and it'll begin, a warm solution is best.

Compress-fittings won't work too well, as they won't compres the copper-pipe to seal it, like they would compress the PVC-tubing usually.

So push-in fittings are probably the best solution for copper-piping, as you need something to seal the connection and the "plastics" of the push-ins will do this for you.

Brass compression-fittings for plumbing have an additional compression sleeve that goes around the copper-tubing to work as an O-ring.

Ok, I might give that copper sulphate solution a try, because I can´t seem to find any push-ins in copper.

But otherwise, maybe you can modify regular compression-fittings with o-rings or something?

Look for plumbing-equipment. There's 1/4" compression fittings available for copper-tubing and are made from brass usually.

Hardware store stuff has one downside: it's bulky. There is a technique for compression fitting rubber gaskets on copper tube, but I don't see it working for you.
Any 12mm SLI fittings should work.

    Going to look into that

I know, they tend to be very bulky and ugly, and I want it too look good of course.

SLI fittings don´t come in angles, and I need a lot of 45´s.

You say there´s a technique for comp fittings with rubber gaskets/o-rings, but you don´t see it working for ME... can you explain? =)

Edit: Oh, and btw, I could get hold on piping in other dimensions if that makes any difference.. Prob from 8 to 14mm diam

Old-style copper pipe into the bottom of a sink for instance. The fitting nut is very large, and the setup requires a bit of tubing passing into the sink end.

    Ok, thanks

Thanks for the tip... Only plastic ones though.

Thanks, but I couldn't locate any G1/4 fittings on that site.

I´m very curious about what kind of fittings Twister and Attila used on their builds below???

Yep just make sure you're using 12mm OD tubing as the C47's have a 12.1mm opening :)
