my msn will not open it simply crashes

have tried the good old fashioned reboot and an uninstall and reinstall of the program, any ideas people?

    ty in advance :)

    <<<<>>>>>
This Problem reported itself as a WLDCore.dll error in event viewer, below is the fix

    Fix found:

    go to in registry:

HK_CU->Software->Microsoft->MSNMessanger->PerPassportSettings-><number here>->UTL and delete this key*

    *** make a backup in-case it doesn't work

have you tried running a clean up program to make sure there's no old files left behind?

Do you get any errors at all? Event viewer might be a good place to look and see if there's anything thats popped up in there.

uninstall live messenger > delete the Windows live messenger directory in program files > run a cleanup program such as ccleaner > reinstall WLM :D

as stupid as it sounds, make sure you have the right time and date set on your computer. If it's late, messenger won't start.
