OK .. lots of cases done and will be posted .. im making stuff for www.dreamhack.com where i will be and engrave live for the peoples there .. and show some of the stuff i made .. this is a case that www.gtek.se sponsored me with a psu and lightwriter fan so i want to give them a huge thanks for the stuff .. a thank to point of view ffor the gfx 7900gtx and abit too for the mother board .. and last corsair for the 2gb kit of promodules that will be in it at the end . the case a Aerocool ExtremEngine 3Twith a 250mm fan in the side and 140mm in the front, fan controller in the lower part of the case and a really nice case .. looks like any standard case inside but still sweet . first side shall be engraved .. not to much just a "easy" stripe of flames.. thru the paper and rough fill in after a few hours of grinding we have a nice result .. the side with the large fan i would like a big window to show off the stuff inside it .. but the fan is "kinda" big.. so have to solve that in some way.. doing the flame things on the other side too but the fan kinda gets in the way for some parts .. building up the flames around the hole .. and starting to fill in roughly.. this side too a hell of a time to do .. but its done .. ... the innerpart of the hole is just roughly engraved it will be coverd with the fanpart around the fan..
kinda nice now to the part that was a problem.. i wanted to see in to the case but cant make a window where the fan is and that is exactly where the gfx and cpu and mem is .. that is where the fan is .. 2mm plexi is usefull you can bend it a bit without warming it and it wont crack . and its seethru.. after a circle with the knife and some sandpaper it looks like this .. and now it needs some holes or the fan will burn up working.. after some drilling it looks really sweet .. and the sound of the big fan was kinda low but still you could hear it is tottally gone .. and its moves air .. trust me the top .. i will be putting in a fan in the top a 80mm lightwriter fan .. kinda fun to see what airtemp the air is when going out of the case.. just making the line to mark up where to drill .. the fan.. made the hole and sketched up he flames that will be around the hole.. starting to fill it in and noticed that i scratched beside the flames and have to make it bigger .. in a couple of hours we got this ... fan in place and have to test it .. "reboot your mind" 23degrees celsius are the air comming out of the case the big hole is kinda fun .. the pics dont really shows it .. when the fan spinns you can see in to the case thru the plexi and i got my window as said dont show on the pic that good .. but you can see thru it aprox as any other window..
Sorta on topic.. Does anyone know where I can find a guide on engraving? Ive searched around and can't find any. It looks fairly straightforward but I want to read up on the details before I try it.
wow.. that is one helluva fan.. it spins pretty slow im guessing cause its so massive.. love the engraving ;D didnt really care for that purple/blue lightwriter fan on the top of the case though :\ colors seem kinda gaudy, well ill just have to wait and see what plans you got for this baby, nice job, keep up the good work ;D
Thanks for that, always wanted to do some engraving, only getting into it now, been building rigs for years and never had the time or money, or couragte to do iit, could ruin a nice case or to!
Looks really awesome so far man! You should see if you could get the huge fan chromed... >.> I know you normaly can't chrome plastic, but I know theres a way to do it. Google gave me this link... ---> http://www.atlaschrome.com/plastic.html I don't know, twould be cool.
Which grill are you talking about? The one in front of the HUGH fan? It's superb in my opinion!!! The other one does not really honour the rest of the case . Whatever you would make yourself would be better, looking @ your result so far .
